Affinity
purified antibodies, F(ab')
2 & Fab' fragments and Conjugates
Affinity chromatography is used to isolate antibodies
to defined antigens. Antigen coupled to a solid-phase matrix serves
as immunoabsorbent, and absorbed antibodies are eluted free of contaminating
plasma proteins. Since affinity purified antibodies are free of unwanted
antibodies and other proteins, they are ideal markers of antigen recognition,
when conjugated with fluorochromes, biotin, or enzymes.
